For this boldly basic look I chose to pair a classic heather grey T-shirt dress with neutral heels that have a bold design. My goal was to keep the outfit as effortless, yet chic as possible. Sometimes it can be daunting for us to find outfits that allow us to broadcast our stylish personalities without coming across as trying too hard. Neutrals are a great way to do just that, choose pieces that posess a unique texture, fabric, or design. These articles in a neutral color palette will have all of the elements that make an outfit shine through a crowd while being subdued enough to be worn on a daily basis.
All of these colors are in the same shade family, marrying the pieces perfectly to create a
style statement.

Last week, I found myself feeling a bit "spendy". So I thought what better way to fulfill my desire to spend than doing so in an economical fashion. I hit up three thrift shops in awesome locations, 2nd Ave
Goodwill,
Buffalo Exchange, and
Beacon's Closet. I think I was actually pretty fortunate this trip. The problem with thrifting in the greater New York City area, is the same thing that keeps people moving further away,
inflation! Keep that in mind as you thrift, a good attitude is essential. Also I tend to thrift more expensive pieces or unique articles that I know I can't find at a fast fashion retailer. Keep an eye out for designer, leather, and one of a kinds! Here's what I found on my impromptu thrift excursion.
I found a bunch of vinyl's at Goodwill which were priced at only $1.94 ea. At the same thrift shop, I scored a pair of barely worn Schutz
Edna flats for $15!!! The sandals are from Buffalo, brand-new from
RiverIsland for $18.98. And last, the blouse and pants, which will be styled in an upcoming post with better detailing, are a Beacon find, the top coming in at $10.95 and the 100% silk nepalese pants at only $15.95!
Hopefully this post inspires you to get out and explore your local thrift/charity shops for some amazing steals and deals. If so, I'd love to see what you picked up!

Guess whose back?! I know I'm long over due, but I'm back and hopefully here to stay. With class out for the summer, and no steady work I've been overflowing with ideas, yet somehow I let myself fall through on the execution. Today, inspired by a midday rain storm that left me feeling too lazy to find any outdoor adventures, I decided to quit making excuses and post a blog.
I guess I was playing off of the "cozy" summer rain outside, and wanted to keep that comfort, but still be ready to head out if the rain let up.
This look was so simple it took me less than 10 minutes to get ready!
I shook my hair out, chucked on my outfit, and made iced tea, whilst listening to a Barry White record I picked up!
Oh, and of course my favorite slippers!
